Meet Tess and Pete - Living life large always at Monterey
After travelling for 2 years, Tess and Pete were looking to settle down and find their village. Monterey sparked some large ideas for them, ones that involved space, greenery and facilities without the upkeep.
“It was about 5 months ago that we came across Monterey on the internet” shared Pete. We had actually been looking for a place to settle into for about 10 years now. We sold our home 3 years ago in the middle of COVID-19 and bought a caravan to travel for 2 years.”
Pete and Tess have spent the last three years travelling; two in a caravan travelling around Australia, and the last year overseas. They always had an over 55s community in their mind, and since coming back to Australia 6 months ago, it was time for Pete and Tess to make the move and settle down.
“After travelling for some time, Pete and I decided that we like the coast a bit more. We heard of Allam homes being built from some other friends, so we went and had a look at Monterey.”
Pete and Tess were quite surprised when they saw the homes at Monterey. “We used to live on 10 acres, but these homes were still quite large; less mowing that’s for sure,” laughed Pete. “We still have a yard, and it's nice to have the neighbours a bit closer, although not too close.”
“Whilst looking at other estates, we noticed that they were a lot more compact, almost army style. This is what sold us on Monterey. We had enough space to ourselves, still feeling like we were a part of the community.”
Monterey has a growing community since its opening, with Pete and Tess sharing that they have already met all current residences. The facilities that Monterey has to offer still allows Pete and Tess to keep active and adventurous.
“The clubhouse is fantastic! When the sun is out, we have used the pool almost every single one of those days. It’s also a great meeting spot to see all of the other community members.”
Allam Property Group is pleased that Monterey could help Pete and Tess find their home, whilst allowing them to keep their active lifestyle alive.
