Community Spirit Shines for Laurieton Fishermen Co-op
On March 1st, the Laurieton United Services Club was buzzing with generosity as the local community came together to support the Laurieton Fishermen Co-op after the devastating fire on January 15th.
With an incredible lineup of 49 raffles, 28 Red Balloon raffles, 62 silent auctions, and 23 live auction items, the event was a huge success! The live auction alone raised nearly $45,000, contributing to an impressive $70,000 raised so far for the Co-op.
The Monterey and Allam Team were delighted to participate with a donation of a signed 2025 Penrith Panthers jersey, which sold for $1,450 to the lucky winner, Wayne—an avid Panthers supporter! Congratulations, Wayne, and thank you for your generous support!
From TVs to canoes, toolsets, signed memorabilia, fishing rods, and experiences like golf and fishing trips, the community came together to give back in a big way. It’s heartwarming to see everyone rally for such a vital part of Laurieton.
The Laurieton Fishermen Co-op, located on Mill Street, has long been a hub for local fishermen, by handling the logistics of packing, transporting and selling their catch, while also serving fresh and cooked seafood to the public. This fundraising effort is a testament to the strength of this incredible community.
Thank you to everyone who donated, bid, and supported! Let’s keep the momentum going to help rebuild this essential part of Laurieton.
